About this course

The Master of Clinical Dentistry is for qualified dentists aiming to enhance their clinical competencies in advanced general practice treatments. Highlights of studying the Master of Clinical Dentistry Three specialised majors - Implant Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Prosthodontics - provide a comprehensive curriculum that integrates academic learning with extensive clinical experience. Combine seminars, journal clubs, supervised clinical practice, and a research project and immediately apply enhanced skills in practice. As a graduate you'll be prepared to undertake advanced procedures within general practice, contributing to improved patient outcomes and advancing your career. Majors Implant Dentistry Build advanced expertise in dental implantology, from diagnosis and treatment planning to surgical placement and restoration of dental implants for the replacement of missing teeth and the rehabilitation of oral function and aesthetics. You'll explore the biological principles of osseointegration while developing hands-on skills in implant surgery and prosthodontics, including single implants, fixed prostheses and overdentures. With a focus on digital workflows such as CBCT imaging, guided surgery and CAD/CAM technologies, you'll learn to deliver precise, evidence-based and patient-centred implant care, including the management of complications and long-term maintenance of implant therapy. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, simulation, and supervised clinical experience, you'll gain the competence to deliver safe, predictable and patient-centred implant treatment in modern clinical practice. Oral Surgery Advance your clinical capability in minor oral surgery and dentoalveolar procedures within a structured, practice-focused environment. You'll strengthen your skills in complex tooth extractions, preprosthetic surgery and the management of oral pathology, with an emphasis on patient safety and clinical decision-making. Designed to bridge the gap between general dentistry and specialist training, you'll be equipped to confidently manage surgical cases and broaden your scope of practice. Prosthodontics Develop the skills to restore function and aesthetics through comprehensive prosthodontic care. Through theoretical learning and supervised clinical training, you'll gain experience in fixed and removable prosthodontics, including crowns, bridges, dentures and implant-supported prostheses, as well as full mouth rehabilitation for complex cases. With a strong focus on occlusal management, treatment planning and digital technologies such as CAD/CAM and digital impressions, you'll graduate ready to deliver high-quality, patient-centred restorative outcomes in modern dental practice.
