Applicants must have the following: • Completed Australian bachelor's degree, bachelor's honours, master's degree, doctorate, or overseas equivalent, with at least one major discipline study relevant to the teaching area, as described by the NSW curriculum and consistent with NESA Subject Content Knowledge Requirements Students who have studied overseas may be required to meet additional requirements set by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to qualify as teachers in NSW. For applicants with a bachelor's degree, the degree must contain at least one major discipline study and may contain a minor discipline study. A minor discipline study qualifies students to teach a second or additional subject. A major discipline study equates to six subjects, with no more than two subjects at first-year level and no fewer than two subjects at third-year level. A minor discipline study equates to four subjects, with no more than two subjects at the first-year level. Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.
